Airports & Flights in Srilanka
There are over 25 airports on the island of Sri Lanka, the largest of which is Bandaranaike (code: CMB). This is Sri Lanka’s only international airport, and it is located near the city of Colombo.
Bandaranaike is currently being renovated and expanded. At the moment, there is a small first aid center, a few banks, several duty free shops, two restaurants, and a taxi service counter in the airport. There is also a place where visitors can make international calls, but there are no internet capabilities.
Bandaranaike has rooms for transfer passengers to rest in, as well as shower rooms. Colombo can be reached by a bus that departs every half hour or by taxi. It should be noted that the airport charges a tax of approximately US$15 for each departing passenger over the age of two who has stayed in Sri Lanka for more than twenty-four hours
