Sri Lanka Visa Information
The citizens of most EU countries, as well as the United States of America, Canada, India, Israel, Australia, and New Zealand, are not required to pay for a visa to stay in Sri Lanka for 30 days. They can also extend this permission to remain in the country for another two months free of charge. Those who wish to stay for more than three months must apply and pay for a visa. The prices vary from US$0.75 to US$200, depending on the visitor’s country of origin, but most fees fall into the $25-100 range.
Nationals of certain other countries must obtain a visa before they depart their home country for Sri Lanka. This is true even for transit visas.
It is best to contact the Sri Lankan embassy near you if you have a question about whether or not you have to get a visa before you depart for Sri Lanka.
